Hair Color Crush: Hubba Bubba!

Although it’s only Wednesday, this new hair color trend is such a #TBT! We all remember Hubba Bubba chewing gum from grade school, right? The flavor may not have lasted that long when you were chewing the sugary gum, but this hair trend might just have what it takes to stick around. Everyone from Rhianna to Amanda Seyfried and Scarlet Johansen have hopped on the pink hair color bandwagon at some point, but when Iggy Azalea posted her new pink do this week, the net was abuzz with deliciously sweet candy color. Given all of the pretty...

Pretty Lights

I always love some great lights when it comes to hair! This time of year I can’t help but be inspired by all of the twinkling Christmas lights everywhere, and was inclined to do some research on where the tradition came from. Did you know that the Christmas Tree was first adopted in Germany? Candles were the main source of decoration for the “tannenbaum” although they were expensive at the time. Christmas trees grew popular during the beginning of the 20th century, and by the mid 20th century, electric lights grew in...

The Gratitude Blog

The holidays are said to be the most wonderful time of the year. How could one not feel wonderful when giving presents to loved ones and remembering the moments that made up the year before us. On today’s blog I wanted to take the time to remember some of this year’s amazing moments and also send a special thanks to all of my clients, family and friends who have been involved in my career, and my life. One of the biggest career moves I made this year was moving on to my private studio. I love working in the heart of Beverly Hills...

24 Hour Hair Color

“It all happened 2 weeks ago. A client of mine was traveling in Hawaii when she got a call from her agent.  She was landing in LA that evening at 9pm, and the producers wanted to see her for a 9am audition the next morning. She called me in a panic. Her usually stunning auburn red hair color had been bleached by the Hawaiian sun and her signature red was integral to the character she was auditioning for. She landed at 9, and by 11 pm she was in my chair getting her much needed touch-up. Her color looked absolutely perfect for her...

All I Want for Christmas is…

The most wonderful time of the year is here! My wish list as an always on-the-go Master Colorist and Wella Educator is pretty simple. I need products that will be light enough to travel with and still pack the punch that I need to keep my tresses tame, healthy and shiny. First on my list is the SH-RD Repair series. These amazing products are enriched with herbal Rosemary and they help address hair that has been damaged by environmental factors, daily life stresses and chemical services. Perfect for a girl (or guy) on the go! Another great...

The Master Colorist Experience: Art Basel Miami

This was my first time attending Art Basel in Miami. From the fantastic people watching to the exclusive lineup of events, it was enthralling and inspiring to be surrounded by so much culture. Oh yes, and of course, there was plenty of ART. Some consider the first week of December to be the most important week in Miami. The Art Basel Miami event is a whirlwind of color, emotion and expression of over 280 of the world’s leading galleries and over 4000 artists. The two cities, Miami and Miami Beach, are now home to more than 20 pop-up art...

Color of the Year: Rose Quartz & Serenity

Every year designers, retailers and creatives all over the world look forward to the unveiling of the new Pantone Color of the Year. When in comes to color in 2016, we can expect to look forward to a kaleidoscope of pastel hues featuring the two new stars of the color show: Rose Quartz and Serenity. Holiday Color Inspo: Emerald Green

Turn heads this holiday season with show-stopping Emerald Green! Emerald is known for it’s invigorating, heart-opening qualities and for bringing freshness and vitality to the spirit. When Pantone named Emerald as color of the year in 2013, the color was described as “Lively. Radiant. Lush…a color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony.” With the new year upon us, wearing this color of renewal, growth and rebirth is a wise idea! I created some enchanting emerald green hues in my model...

Trend Watch: Sunset Hair

Fall and winter sunsets may be a litter earlier than we’d like (4 or 5 p.m.), but that doesn’t mean they’re not beautiful. Nature is always one of my favorite places to look for #hairinspiration, and with all of the fun Rainbow Roots trends happening lately, it’s no wonder full on prismatic color is a natural next step! #SunsetHair is the latest hair trend that not only has me mesmerized, but apparently the rest of the internet’s loving it as well. For this post Thanksgiving blog, I wanted to share some sunset...
