Master Colorist’s Fall Hair Color Trend Forecast Vol. Two

Master Colorist’s Fall Hair Color Trend Forecast Vol. Two

Happy Friday, beauties!

I am so excited to announce that my article for Bullett Media was released last night! I’ve been dying to share it with all of you, so naturally, I was one happy lady this morning when I discovered that it was up. Check it out and leave any comments or questions in the comments section.

Two days ago we officially crossed the threshold into full on autumn, so I am especially excited to be revealing the second Hot Hair Color Trend of the season: Buttery Blonde! Lets face it, blonde seems to be a permanently coveted hair color, but this seasons blonde shades are the sexiest yet. As a master hair colorist, I am accustomed to clients of all hair color and type wanting to go blonde, but being afraid of the final result. A little known fact among our community of master hair colorists is this: there is a shade of blonde for absolutely everybody. The key is to understand how to mix a hair color with various shades to compliment the undertones in the skin. Below are a few models that I turned into golden goddesses. As you can see, there is a huge difference in the complexion of the models and each is rocking the shade of blonde that compliments her distinct features.

butteryblond1 My model, Kelleen Chea (@kelleenchea) has a gorgeous, naturally tan complexion. In order to perfectly compliment the undertones in her skin, I created a hair color mixture that (while still beautifully blonde) is on the darker side with slight hints of caramel. This hair color mixture gives Kelleen a expressive, fresh new look.

Liv (@liv_jaegaer) is the quintessential blonde bombshell. The undertones in her skin and her light eyes give her the complexion for the beach-y blonde locks. For fall, I created a hair color mixture that would create a warm glow around her face and bring out her beautiful blue eyes.

I was one of the master colorists who had the pleasure of getting creative with Nioxin color for the Sebastian What Next Awards. I created Buttery Blonde hair color looks for both of my gorgeous models. As you may have noticed, the shades for them are very different from the hair color shades for  Kelleen and Liv, yet they all exist within the blonde family. The hair color shades for the event were on the cooler side, and there is distinction between the shade for each model according to her complexion. On the first model (@dexrockwell) I mixed a rose-gold hair color shade, while the hair color shade on the second model (@misscharlotta) was the coolest and most platinum of all.

I’d love to hear from you: Have you ever wanted to go blonde, but are afraid because you don’t think it will look good on you? Let me know in the comments below.
