City Vibes Through Hair Color

City Vibes Through Hair Color

As many of you know, I do a lot of traveling; in my opinion, traveling is the best education that you can give yourself, and it is quite possibly the only thing you pay for that actually makes you wealthier. I travel a lot for my work as a Master Hair Colorist and try to get away as much as I can when I can take a rare vacation. One of my favorite things about my travels is that each city- with it’s beauty, culture, and nuance- inspires my work. Every single city has a distinct vibe and, being a Master Hair Colorist, I automatically translate that vibe into hair styles and colors. Lately, my mind has been on foreign travels, the feelings I get when I go to the different cities, and what how these feelings translate into hair colors and styles. Below are three cities and what hair colors I associate with them. Paris: Parisian ladies are masters of effortless chic; As a matter of fact, they pretty much define what that means. They are relaxed, easy-going, and confident without trying too hard. As far as hair color is concerned, Paris screams Balayage. Much like the city’s inhabitants, the artistic and intuitive process of creating the perfect Balayage breeds results that look absolutely effortless. When the Balayage is done correctly it should looks like that is how your hair naturally is. Rome: As an Italian I am partial to all things Italy. Italians are known for their unapologetic sex appeal and a high degree of va-va-voom. For me, the hair color that represents Italy is a rich Espresso Brown (almost as rich as the espresso in Italy). Long, voluminous brunette locks reminds me of the confident Italian women whose beauty I grew up admiring. London: My absolute favorite with it’s gothic architecture and gray and dreary days- this is a city with pulse. There is a sense of sophistication in London that I haven’t found anywhere else in the world. When I think of London in terms of hair, I always picture a sleek, Jet Black, and straight- the ultimate sophistication. To pull of this look there definitely needs to be a little bit of fierce attitude and a don’t-mess-with-me demeanor. Which city has your favorite unique style? Master Hair Colorists Picks for Best Halloween Looks (Celebrity Edition)

Master Hair Colorists Picks for Best Halloween Looks (Celebrity Edition)

As a Master Hair Colorist, I am pretty much obsessed with Halloween (any excuse for dressing up and I am all about it). That being said, my next few posts are going to be extremely Halloween-centric. As I try to find inspiration for my own costume, I keep looking through tons of pictures of celebrities costumes from past Halloween’s. Every year, we see our favorite TV, film, and music stars put together some pretty interesting Halloween looks. As I mentioned in my last post, I believe that the best Halloween costumes come from fully committing to the look – this includes costume, makeup, and the HAIR! Of course, as a Master Hair Colorist,  my prerequisite for an amazing Halloween look is how well the hair color and style coordinate with the costume. You’d be surprised how much I am completely unimpressed by the effort people put into having the hair color and hair style be on point for the costumes. There are times, however, when I find a person who has truly done a spectacular job with their hair color and hair style. So, without further ado, I bring you my Top Three Halloween Looks (Celebrity Edition)! Iggy Azaelea knocked it out of the park as one of our all-time favorite Disney villains, Cruella De Vil. Not only did she pull this off to perfection, but she also modernized Cruella’s wardrobe and truly committed to Cruella’s signature black and white hair color and hair style. Perfectly coiffed and with a dalmatian to boot- I can’t really ask for more. Heidi Klum is the queen of Halloween looks! Each year, she throws an elaborate Halloween party where she truly is costumed to perfection. Cleopatra may be a typical Halloween costume, but nobody does its quite like Heidi. She even bedazzled her face to embody how much of an absolute goddess and myth Cleopatra has become in modern day. I have never seen anyone do Cleopatra quite like this! I really tried to find another person for the third spot, but once again I have to give to Heidi Klum (or should I say Betty Boop?) I love that instead of opting for a plain, black bob, she actually created a awesome hair color and hair style for her version of Betty Boop. I think even Betty Boop would approve. I can’t wait to see what Heidi has up her sleeve this year! What are your favorite Halloween looks? Let me know in the comments below. Renee Taglia is located in a Beverly Hills California. Emmy Awards Edition: Master Hair Colorist Picks for Stunning Red Carpet Hair

Emmy Awards Edition: Master Hair Colorist Picks for Stunning Red Carpet Hair

September 20th is Emmy Sunday! The Emmy Awards are definitely my favorite awards show of the season because I love good TV. For me, the best part of the entire extravaganza is the pre-show where stars saunter in looking absolutely stunning. As a master hair colorist my eyes are glued to their hair color and style. Each year, I have my top picks for which talented lady killed it on the red carpet, and on Monday I will be announcing my Top Three Emmy 2015 Hair Color + Style winners. However, since the entire city of LA is already buzzing with excitement, I figured I may as well get in the Emmy spirit now by doing a throwback to last years Emmy Awards. So, without further ado, here are my favorite Hair Color + Style winners from the 2014 Emmy Awards. My absolute favorite look of the 2014 Emmy Awards was Sarah Hyland. The Modern Family actress rocks the sun-kissed hair color so well. I love that Sarah is not afraid to have some fun with her hair style and she decided to wear it in a messy bun for such a glamourous event. There is nothing stiff, confined or generic about this effortlessly chic look. I can’t wait to see what she does for the 2015 Emmy Awards. Yet another Modern Family goddess comes in at second place. Sophia Vergara, albeit predictable, never fails to turn heads. You can’t help but love her for being a woman who is not afraid to turn up the glamour to va-va-voom levels (reminiscent of one of the the sexiest silver-screen icons of all time- ironically also a Sophia- Sophia Loren). For Emmy 2014, she kept her locks looking silky, shiny and buoyant. Her hair color was the perfect shade of butterscotch-caramel! So, so gorgeous. No list would be complete without a blonde beauty in the mix. From the overwhelming number of gorgeous blondes (Taylor Schilling, Claire Danes, etc) at the 2014 Emmy Awards, my personal favorite was Robin Wright. I think Robin Wright is the epitome of elegance. I love the cool blonde tone of the hair color and how beautifully the sleek hair style looks with that killer suit. Can we just talk about that suit for a minute? This, ladies and gentlemen, is how to stand out in a sea of couture gowns! What were your favorite looks from last years Emmy Awards? Be sure to check back Monday for my list of Hair Style + Color winners from the Emmy Awards 2015!     Renee Taglia is Master Hair Colorist based in a Beverly Hills California.
