Renee Taglia Picks The Best Hair Color of The 2016 Grammys

Renee Taglia Picks The Best Hair Color of The 2016 Grammys

While the Grammys may be music’s biggest night, the award show is also one of my favorites when it comes to hair! While the Globes and Oscars are also amongst my favorites, the Grammy’s offer a little more spice. From the buzz around Taylor Swift’s and Beyonce’s dresses, to the best overall hair and makeup, here are my favorites when it comes to color!   Lady Gaga’s daring apricot was one of my favorites. Her Ziggy Stardust inspired color was thoughtfully paired with a custom designed Marc Jacobs electric blue double-breasted satin coat dress and sky high platforms. If there ever were a perfect place to pay tribute to one of the world’s most loved musicians, the Grammys is it. Great job Gaga.   Gwen Stefani was stunning in a shade more buttery than we normally see her blonde. Her glam look was set in bouncy curls that Marilyn Monroe would definitely approve of! She’s obviously in love in the photos snapped of her and Blake Shelton, and her hair and dress emulated the perfect Valentine’s Day look.     Allessandra Ambrosio slayed in a plunging Versace gown. Her sleek lob was perfect in contrast with her dangly earrings, smoky eyes and pink lips. I love how the highlights make a statement yet are still natural. Way to work it Allessandra!     Well that’s another wrap on my picks for best hair color at the Grammy’s! Can’t wait for another great show; Award’s Season is just beginning! New Obsession: Rainbow Roots

New Obsession: Rainbow Roots

Somewhere over the rainbow lies show stopping hair. We have all seen the very fashionable tones throughout the hair and have been overcome with passion for Pastels, Mint Green hair, Rose Gold hair, Ronze hair, Multicolored hair, and more, but now the color spotlight is shining on the Roots! This new application technique applies these fashion pigments to about the first half inch to two inches at the root area only, depending on the length of the hair. Hair color is in a wonderfully unique time right now.  A time when even the most conservative are looking to add fun pops of hair color.  Never before have we seen attorneys, business men and women, and even doctors wearing more loud and colorful tones. The Rainbow Roots trend is the perfect look for anyone who wants a taste of the technicolor hair trend, but doesn’t want to commit to a full head of rainbow hair. Rainbow Roots are not only extremely instructing to the eye, that are completely customizable to the individual.  The Rainbow tones placed at the roots can range from extremely saturated colors to soft pastel tones, depending on the clients preference. In the photos below, I worked with two different models to demonstrate two different takes on the Rainbow Roots trend: a more subdued look and a stronger, more technicolor version. I used all Wella products including Wella Magma /65, /44, Clear, Limoncello and Wella Instamatics Ocean Storm, Muted Mauve. Enjoy!     Renee Taglia is located in a Beverly Hills California. Contact her here for a consultation on how to discover (and keep) your perfect color. Master Colorist’s Fall Hair Color Trend Forecast Vol. Four

Master Colorist’s Fall Hair Color Trend Forecast Vol. Four

Happy Wednesday, beauties! This is the the fourth and final edition of my Fall 2015 Hair Color Trend Forecast. There is no better way to end this list of hot hair colors for the colder month’s than with the cheeriest trend of them all: Pastels. Pastel hair color (or as it is sometimes referred to, “Mermaid Hair Color”) was very popular throughout the Spring/Summer months and has successfully transitioned to the cooler season. Unsurprisingly, people are just not ready to let this fun trend go away quite yet. We watched celebrities and influencers create their versions of this candy hair color; some famous fans of this hair color trend include Kylie Jenner who has been seen rocking a gorgeous sea-foam green, Julianne Hough, and Katy Perry, just to name a few. (Kylie Jenner) The thing I love about the progression of pastel hair color is that it has managed to go from a funky trend to a refined style statement. People are creating beautiful, elegant looks with a rainbow of these stunning hair colors. Pastels are without a doubt one of the most desired looks from my more daring, trendy clients and (unsurprisingly) one of my favorites to create. The most popular pastel hair color shades are sea-foam green, cotton candy pink, and midnight sky blue. My favorite way to execute pastel hair color is by working with a few colors at once. Instead of doing one shade all over, I work with multiple shades to give each clients hair a little touch of something extra. Of course, like all other hair color compositions, the pastel shades chosen for each individual client need to compliment the undertones of the skin as well as the eye color. By going to a qualified master hair colorist who mixes hair color shades with precision and understands the nuances of how hair color plays with natural undertones, you can achieve a pastel hair color so gorgeous that it would make a mermaid jealous. Below are a few Pastel Hair Color looks that I created for my clients. (@colbiejae) (@autumntuesdays) (@vividvivka) (@hardcoreliz) I’d love to hear from you: Which one of the Fall 2015 Hair Color Trends is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below. Master Colorist’s Fall Hair Color Trend Forecast Vol. Three

Master Colorist’s Fall Hair Color Trend Forecast Vol. Three

Hello lovelies, the third hair color trend for Fall 2015 is extremely vibrant and perhaps the most Fall-forward hair color of all: Rusted Red. This year’s reds come in an array of gorgeous, customizable shades. Rusted Red is the rarest of all hair colors so it is very much a head turner if formulated correctly. Unfortunately, it is also a hair color that has gotten a bad reputation over the years because many hair colorists do not know how to properly formulate this hair color for each individual. I remember a client telling me she hated red because it brought out the yellow undertones in her skin to a jarring point. She had to change her entire makeup routine, including foundation, because nothing she owned matched how “yellow” her skin looked. I felt terrible for this client because going to the salon to get your hair color updated should be fun and leave you feeling sexy and confident. As a master hair colorist, it is top priority for me that my clients leave my chair feeling like they can take on the world. If you want to try the Rusted Red hair color trend for Fall 2015 I highly recommend it. Don’t let your decision be dictated by a bad experience that you have had in the past. The important thing you can do to avoid another mishap is to find a hair colorist who understands the nature of formulating Rusted Red for individual skin tones. Rusted Red is definitely not a one-size-fits-all hair color. Rusted Reds include Copper Red, Red Brown and Red Violet, a hair color range large enough that it allows 100% customization for a wide array of skin tones. When a hair colorist formulates it properly Rusted Red has the potential to enliven your skin by giving you a youthful appearance, brightening your eye color, and giving the hair itself incredible shine. Master Hair Colorist Picks the Top 3 Hair Looks from the 2015 Emmy Awards

Master Hair Colorist Picks the Top 3 Hair Looks from the 2015 Emmy Awards

Last night was the 2015 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles and our favorite television stars certainly did not disappoint! The gorgeous women who walked the red carpet at the Emmy Awards were definitely rocking some of Fall’s hottest hair color trends. There were so many stunning hair looks from this years Emmy Awards which made it extremely difficult for this Master Hair Colorist to select just three. But, I finally managed to do it! So, without further ado, here are my picks for the Top 3 Hair Looks from the 2015 Emmy Awards: My number one spot has to go to the ever-sexy Christina Hendricks! I’ve always loved Christina Hendricks’ red locks; Not only is she out of this world stunning, but her hair only adds to her gorgeous complexion. However, I have never loved her look more than I did at the Emmy Awards because she was rocking my absolute favorite hair color trend of Fall 2015: Ronze! Her light rose-gold hair was the perfect compliment to the exquisite gold detailing on her dress and the feminine pink hue in her makeup. This Mad Men bombshell made quite the exist as it was the last awards cycle for the iconic show. I can’t wait to see what she does next! In the number two spot for this years Emmy Awards we have Lady Gaga! Lady Gaga is another one of my favorites because she’s inventive and a risk-taker. I may not always love the looks she comes up with, but I appreciate someone who isn’t afraid to do things outside the box. At the 2015 Emmy Awards Lady Gaga was channeling Marilyn Monroe with her sleek blond hair and sophisticated black gown. Who would have guessed she could do minimal so well? Last, but certainly not least, on my list is Kerry Washington. The Scandal star was rocking yet another one of my favorite hair color trends for fall: Tortoise Shell! Check out the gorgeous chestnut highlights below the top of the hair creating a breathtaking, yet low maintenance look. What were some of your favorite hair color and style looks from the 2015 Emmy Awards? Let me know in the comments!   Renee Taglia is Master Hair Colorist based in a Beverly Hills California.
